Like acupuncture, it is based on the philosophy that vital energy (Ki) flows throughout the body in a series of channels called meridians.

Shiatsu practitioners work by stimulating the flow of Ki (Energy) through acupoints using acupressure techniques to create positive changes in energy patterns. Shiatsu is deeply relaxing and works on physical, mental and spiritual levels. It can relieve a wide range of ailments producing a feeling of wellbeing.

Expect gentle holding, pressing with palms, thumbs and elbows on the meridians, and rotations and stretches to tone your energy.

Shiatsu can help a wide range of conditions from specific injuries to more general symptoms of poor health. Regular sessions can help to prevent the build up of stress caused by daily life.

What is Hot Stone Massage?

Hot Stone Massage concentrates on giving you a deep therapeutic massage. Triggerpoint Massage is a great way to relax specific tense muscles, and can give rapid relief from pain.

Clinical experience has shown that trigger points can often be the cause of pain. Symptoms that appear to be generated by a joint, an internal or external organ, or an eye, ear, or tooth can in reality be an effect caused by trigger points in nearby muscles, or even a muscle some distance away. Here are a few examples: a toothache can be referred pain from a jaw muscle or a trigger point in a neck muscle can make an eyelid droop or twitch, or can cause a migraine.

Visualization, NLP, Hypnotherapy & Coaching
Where appropriate I use these techniques helping clients to connect to positive emotions during the treatment process. Our brain uses images and memories from the past to learn for the future. Connecting to positive memories and setting "anchor points" (points you activate by tapping), will help you accessing these positive emotions any time you want. This can be an incredibly helpful tool in stressful and challenging times. If used well, you will quickly notice a positive change in the way you feel and how you are dealing with stress! Would you like to feel more calm, peaceful and relaxed when dealing with life? Then this is a very effective way of making fast and long-lasting changes.

Qualifications

Nicole Swierkowski is qualified in Shiatsu, Hot Stone Massage and Triggerpoint Massage.
